Photos from the Marjorie Mazia School of Dance

Hi friends,

Recently, my mother (Nora Guthrie) brought boxes of photographs from the Marjorie Mazia School of Dance into the office, so that we could start scanning and organizing all of them. The photos are so beautiful, young dancers learning to express themselves through creative movement.

Did you study at Marjorie’s dance school? We’re hoping to be able to share some photos, perhaps you will recognize yourself and your classmates? Stay tuned…

Hi- Allen Tobias sent me an email about your project. I was a student of your grandmother’s and your mom’s. I adored them both! I would love to connect with you for your project. I have a few anecdotes for you as well.

I was a student of your grandmother’s at the Marjorie Mazia School of Dance. No matter how talented (or not), I fondly remember how she made each of us feel special and that we were all capable of accomplishing great things. She taught me to love my body and the joy and freedom of movement. Thank you to your mom and uncles for sharing her with us. I vividly remember your Uncle Arlo coming to the studio and sitting on a bench doing his homework while classes were going on.
